00 · THE WALK-ON
SHE HAS TEN SECONDS BEFORE ANYONE LOOKS AT A MUSCLE
The walk-on is scored. Before a single pose is struck the judges have already seen the thing they are really comparing: proportion, how she carries it, and whether the shape holds while she is moving. This body is generated from anthropometric measurements — stature, biacromial breadth, waist and hip breadth, limb girths — not sculpted, and the muscle you are about to see appear is the mesh being pushed out by the groups each pose contracts.
