The neurons and wiring on it are illustrative: a few thousand points scattered over the cortex, each wired to its nearest neighbours. But the thought you fire is a real cascade along that graph, one hop at a time, which is why it spreads along the folds rather than as a circle. The Future hotspots are where AI is actually heading; the Brain Map is the textbook job of each region — real thinking is spread across networks, so treat those as the headline, not the whole story.
